Weekly Update 0.742

Hi everyone,

Game is coming out next week on October 30, really excited. In the meantime I'm polishing it and preparing its launch, so this week I didn't have time to note every little things I changed. There's always some little last minute bug no matter how hard you test.

GAMEPLAY

  • Hyena speed reduced, mobility increased
  • Made changes to some disease descriptions and names
  • Changed AI behavior for ranged units: now they will switch to a melee weapon more quickly


FIXES

  • Changelog button would not work in build
  • Tough bug with attack missiles filter where the unit would not move out of his range to attack
  • Items would sometimes duplicate in inventory
  • Various UI glitches

This week is a regular update.

GAMEPLAY

  • Tweaked respect gains
  • Shieldmen no longer have fast metabolism but have more defense
  • Tweaked blunderbuss stats
  • Vision now correctly affects random events
  • Improved engineer cloak
  • Daggers are a little slower but have more armor penetration
  • Town gates now have basic knives by default
  • Reworked experience gain skill
  • Heroes now have 100 loyalty for mental resistence purposes
  • Mechanic trait now helps repair machines
  • Ghost cave now has a 50% chance of spawning
  • Quill rains now have a faster delay
  • Nasty crown now hass mass self poison
  • Some events power now scale with time
  • Tweaked threat formula
  • Can't sell items to arena anymore
  • Ammo gloves now requires level 10
  • Tweaked crippler formula


FIXES

  • Issue with selecting multiple units in battle
  • Fixed bug with mystical herbs
  • Improved various UI stuff
  • Big shotguns no longer show up in dungeons
  • Rare bug with friendly units being too strong
  • Hero animator had issues on worldmap
  • Bug with targeting at the beginning of battles
  • Luck was not working properly with level ups

Launch date!

Hi everyone,

The launch date of Rogues Don't Cry will be October 30! It will launch in Early Access, a few days after Steam Next Fest. The demo will be available until then, after that date it's not certain it will stay up.

During Next Fest, there will be a pre-recorded video of the EA version for those interested to see how it the game is.

In addition, here's a the weekly update.

GAMEPLAY

  • Rebalanced disease contagion
  • Improved script when enemies are scared
  • Stick attack speed increased
  • Rock in a sock has increased attack speed
  • Rebalanced combat speed gains for all units
  • Commander has increased traveler skill
  • Bowmen now start with stone clubs instead of sticks
  • Decreased shieldmen speed
  • Improved final boss growth formula: now can have many different units.
  • Adjusted spawn zones in town defense battlefields


FIXES

  • Friendly units would be too strong
  • Shortcut for logs in town would cause issues
  • Monster generator would spawn forbidden monsters
  • Freeze effect would give wrong values on speed
  • Ammo regen would not work on some units
  • Many UI small bugs
  • Problem with attack missile units and filters
  • Pacified monsters would stay pacified forever
  • Problem with skill rerolls
  • Animations would keep playing on death
  • Missing items descriptions
  • Time on map was not consistent
  • Fixed bug where units would still shoot at faraway targets even when engaged

  • Primitive bows don't drop anymore
  • Vampiric swords no longer appear in random events
  • Reworked mantises defense stats
  • Spiky faces start with higher thorn
  • Vampire bats start with higher drain
  • Explosives deal more blunt damage and less of others

  • Reduce hammer price
  • Improved fat toads stats
  • Added mantis idle animation
  • Help for final boss don't appear before day 60 in random events
  • Wildebeest are a little slower

  • Blessed grandmas no longer give time blesses if days are below 10

  • Fixed problems with unlocks when not logged on Steam
  • Rare bug where damage would equal 0 and cause some problems
  • Glitch with attack effects
  • Steel maces had same reqs as metal maces
  • Fixed bug with insane and insane units causing issues with other selected units
  • Problem with converted units staying converted after battle
  • Fixed ugly bug with outlines
  • Fixed bug with animations glitching on worldmap
