Hotfix Patch: Jumping Into Cutscenes No Longer Freezes the Game

Hey everyone!

We’ve just pushed a fix for a bug that could freeze the game if you triggered a cutscene while jumping.

Huge thanks to everyone who reported this — and an extra special thanks to those who shared logs and save files. That really helped us track it down quickly!

Pathfinder's Patch Notes [1.0.4]: World Map, Fog of War & The Predator


Hey, Pathfinders! It’s me, the Chief Pathfinder—Jasper for friends! This month I levelled up my cartography skills.

Items marked with [🧭] were added thanks to your feedback! We truly appreciate every comment and work hard to keep the journey smooth.

All maps re-worked


[h2]World map[/h2]
🧭The world map has been completely rebuilt:
  • Geometry and zone transitions now match their real in-game layout and exits
  • Many pins and labels updated
  • Numerous bugs fixed


Comment: The world map was on our “to-redo” list forever. Thanks to your feedback, it’s finally done!

[h2]Local maps[/h2]
Local maps were also re-worked in this patch, and we added a fog of war to show where you’ve been (and where you haven’t).

  • Local map backgrounds now match their biomes
  • 🧭Fog of war—unvisited areas are blacked out. You can still peek through for now, but that may change later.




Comment: These tweaks were long overdue—thank you for pushing us to make them!

[h2]Mini-map (radar)[/h2]
🧭A mini-map now lives in the top-right corner. Don’t like it? Toggle it off in the options.

VFX
  • Many weapon effects completely redrawn
  • Dash VFX tweaked
  • Fixed Queen Bee death effect
  • Improved Blade Dance effects
  • Fixed Chakram circular-saw effect
  • Brighter smash effect on giant piñatas
  • Piñatas now glow better overall
  • Tweaked Toad Wife death effect
  • Added shout effect to several mobs & bosses
  • Fist Shield now properly turns off in console screens
  • Waterfalls and smoke improved
  • Fixed shot from the fishman marksman


SFX
  • Voice of Inayah polished
  • New exploration track for train areas
  • More exploration variants in several zones
  • Restored hound mutant, fishman warrior, fishman marksman, bomber, mechanic, assassin and Iron-Skin voices
  • Fixed Iron-Skin crossbowman voice
  • Fixed door sound in Xopo
  • New track for Heart of Darkness boss modules
  • Returned some missing Inayah ability sounds
  • Added assorted minor sounds (splashes, slime squish, etc.)

Pathfinder's Patch Notes [1.0.3]: Auto-Platforming, New Cutscenes & Much More



Greetings, Pathfinders!

Jasper here! Or Chief Pathfinder, if you prefer formalities. Didn't expect me back so soon, huh?! So much has happened, I just had to tell you all about it before heading back out. Hakim tweaked something in Inayah's gloves, making them much easier to handle! Clio's drawn a ton of new beautiful things... Seriously, when does she even sleep?! And Inayah's been defeating so many monsters that we decided her victories deserved a bit more flair. She works hard for them, after all! Oh, and also... uh, I forgot! But hey, don't panic, the list is right below, you can read it all yourself!

New Content
  • Added new slides for Hakim's ending

Custom Difficulty Enhancements
  • 🧭Customizable enemy Health and Damage modifiers
Comment: Now you decide how much punishment an enemy can take. Personally, I crank both health and damage up to +300%—perfect. Try out your own settings and tell us what worked for you!

  • 🧭"Auto-Platforming" option—hook, grapple, and wall jump now work with any active weapon. You still need to find the weapon, but no need to switch constantly.
Comment: I hesitated for a long time about adding this option—but ultimately decided that player freedom is more important. You can now enable it in Custom Difficulty, and it will be active by default on Easy difficulty.

  • 🧭"Auto-Save in Boss Rooms" option—an autosave is created automatically upon entering a boss room.
Comment: Yes, this makes attempts less stressful—but it's still your game, and you decide exactly how you want to play it.

General
  • New Demo Version—fully matches the beginning of the game. If you purchase the full version, you'll continue right where you left off.
Comment: Maintaining the old demo became too resource-intensive. The new format is simpler and will allow us to release updates faster.

  • New boss death visual effect
Comment: We've wanted to make the moment of victory more impactful for a while—and finally got around to it.
