Galactic Glitch v1.05 - Fix for Black Void Bug and some Balancing



Hey everyone!

It's been five days since our release, so you know what time it is - time for v1.05! We focused most our time yesterday and today on finding the save/load bug that was leaving players stuck in the black void and unable to continue. It should be fixed now for any save that had the issue, and we also made sure it doesn't happen again in the future. Sorry to anyone that had the issue, and thanks for your patience and help in sending us your save files, it helped a ton!

We also took the chance to make some more balance changes based on player feedback, for example we've buffed several powers, buffed the Void Dagger special attack, and added Glitch Token drops from the mid-game big bosses to help with your power progression.

Here's the full list of changes:

  • Added Glitch Token drops from mid-game bosses
  • Buffed Void Dagger special attack damage
  • Increased Static Field power damage
  • Increased Sonic Boom range
  • Reward rooms in late-midgame are no longer hidden
  • Hidden rooms now always spawn connected to small rooms

[h3]Bug Fixes[/h3]
  • Fixed the save/load bug causing players to be stuck in void
  • Fixed power sacrifice not being saved correctly
  • Fixed power list UI being too short when having 7 powers

[h3]Known Issues (will be fixed next week)[/h3]
  • Glitch bomb button binding gets reset on each restart
  • Overheal from Glitchspace healing is not loaded correctly from mid-run saves

Galactic Glitch v1.04 - Fixing the Difficulty #2



Hey everyone!

It's been just half a day since our last update, but we've been listening closely to your feedback and realized the balance in the later levels is still not quite right. We've decided to remove the occurrence of elite enemies in those levels entirely now, and also made many more significant changes to make the difficulty progression more appropriate.

We're increasing the availability of healing, by doubling the health buff you get from the Glitchspace recharge station, by adding more crates in later levels, and by guaranteeing at least one heal item per Shop, and at least one shop per level. Corrupted teleporters rewards have also been significantly upped, so it should now be much more worth the risk to take one.

Here is the full list of changes:

  • Removed elite enemies on later levels of Boss Orb 1
  • Reduced their spawn rates on Boss Orb 2
  • Increased health from Recharge Stations in Glitchspace
  • All shops now have one guaranteed healing item
  • Improved rewards from corrupted teleport rooms
  • Increased crate spawn rates in later levels
  • Buffed Hurricane and Poison Dodge powers
  • Reduced size of sectors in Quarantine level
  • Increased minimum damage bonus from red Upgrade Protocols

[h3]Bug Fixes[/h3]
  • Fixed Void Dagger DPS display (it was showing 4x the real amount)

Galactic Glitch v1.036 - The Weekend Update



Hey everyone!

It's the fourth day since release and here's our fourth update! This one's a bit smaller as it's the weekend and most of the team is taking some well-deserved time off. Still, we've got some fixes and improvements to share with you.

We've focused on many smaller changes that will hopefully address some issues you guys have brought up to us since yesterday. Mainly there's a fix for the Void Ring and Void Dagger creating weird physics issues, as well as a fix for the Void Ring's visual being a bit too distracting. We also reduced the upgrade costs of the high-level hub upgrades, especially the "Roguelite mode" ones. Please let us know how you like the new balance in the comments!

  • Reduced price of high-level meta-upgrades
  • Reduced red screen overlay when on low health
  • Made red challenge portals bigger and easier to spot
  • Made big heal pickups larger and easier to tell apart
  • Increased chance for Glitch Token duplication on Glitch bomb hit
  • Fixed timed reward after completing Cybervoid level
  • Improved Void Ring visuals for better visibility in combat

  • Fixed physics issues with Void Ring and Void Dagger special attacks
  • Fixed some missing power sprites
  • Fixed power upgrade texts for Hurt me Plenty and Cohesion Boost
  • Fixed Quarantine level name not showing on hub map

Galactic Glitch v1.03 - Fixing the Difficulty



Hey everyone!

We've been listening closely to all your feedback since the 1.0 launch, and one thing has come through loud and clear: the difficulty scaling is too punishing and the game becomes frustrating. We hear you!

We are reducing enemy health and damage for all later levels, and are also reducing the scaling effects for all higher Boss Orbs. This will mosly affect the later levels of the run (past Behemoth Boss), but can also be noticeable before. We've increased the Crate spawn rate and we also doubled the HP on Crates, so they don't get destroyed so easily in the chaos of the later zones.

Besides this, there are some smaller balance changes that will hopefully make runs more balanced and fun. We've added more opportunities for gaining Upgrades Protocols, as well as healing items. We're also buffing all prototypes: All ships now get one Power Slot more, as well as a minimum 5 hp bonus from green UPs (even the back-stabby Ravager). Speaking of our backstabby buddy, we now gave him an additional speed buff as well, so he should be much more playable now.

We hope you'll find this version a lot more enjoyable, especially in the later stages of your runs. We want Galactic Glitch to be challenging but fair, and we hope these changes bring us closer to that sweet spot. Galactic Glitch v1.02 - Balance Tweaks and Fixes



Hey everyone!

We've been listening closely to your feedback since the 1.0 launch, and we've heard a few complaints about the intense difficulty. While the game was always intended to be a challenging experience, we do want to make sure that it's also enjoyable, even on those not so great runs.

So today's update focuses on making the game more rewarding while keeping the challenge fair. We've buffed crate hp and drops, greatly increased rewards from corrupted teleports (the ones where you take damage), and increased the chance of reward rooms throughout your runs. We've also made more powers accessible from the start of the run, to increase variety.

Here's everything that's changed in v1.02:
