2025 03 25
Change of plans. After taking my game to a local game expo and having random people playing it who were there to compete in other games, I realized what a perfect fit it is for tournaments. Changes now will be geared towards that, which of course also enhances playing it at home. First big change is being able to pass all 4 controllers over to 4 new people and being able to enter names and colors simultaniously with the controllers. More to come as I book more spaces to set up, so stay tuned!
- adjusted all menu screens to fit better for wider aspect ratios beyond 16:9
- adjusted timings of inactivity arrows for pacing in 2 and 3 player modes
- fixed UI sometimes not coming on right away for certain cases of respawns
-- added mini keyboards that come out with pressing start on controllers

2025 01 18
- adjusted vol spam damping system to reduce even further, instead of capping at half, can go down to quarter
- fixed a few cosmetic things on guns, players, models and textures like Lazer gun dots, Helicopter glow, etc
- improved piss mechanic effects, ragdoll explosion body part movements, and working on exploding headshots
- requested adjustment: changed clutch-turning back to only 2x for players who use higher sens in config menu
-- changed Handicap Boosting to cut 2x damage immediately while health and ammo stay at whatever until respawn

- adjusted timing of color changes and closest player calculations in King Of The Hill mode
- changed Out Of Ammo Point Deductions for Predator Mode to -1 for both Teams and Predators

- added F6 freecam to use at Main Menu in addition to other generated map inspection keys
- fixed KOTH mode sometimes not getting closest player to center on simultaneous RL kills
- fixed PgUp PgDn buttons not enforcing new vSync config after setting and changing in-game

- requested: run 4Xs look sens horz & vert, together, making it uniform without damping. makes it more frantic to run but easier to "switch gears" on the fly

-- changed 2 player seating pos defaults when picking players (assumes facing screen as.. p3 p1 p2 p4) which removes needing to switch seats / controllers when going back and forth from 4 to 2 player modes, retaining controller setups, names, colors, and skill ratings

Kickstarter Campaign launched today! (+ vehicles update)

Driveable Vehicles have been added to the game! Anywhere you see a vehicle can now be entered and driven! Check the CPGN youtube channel if you're interested or just hop into the game!

Here's the big news.. I think everyone FINALLY understands this game was published to Steam's EA to WATCH IT DEVELOP! I'm always kind of shocked people seem to say REALLY stupid things like "this game feels like it's not finished" ..YEAH NO SH!T lol.. but you're welcome for allowing you to play it while it's being developed. Are you a gamer or, what is this, lol..

Anyway, I've explain a million times I've only ever been able to work on this game for a few hours a week and or whenever I have time that allows it. BUT..

If you really can't wait and want me to devote 100% of my time on it and work on this game to complete it FULL-TIME, you can join my KickStarter campaign and I will quit my job for 1 year and FINISH it.

2024 Road to 1.0 and Updates Since

I've started to remove and finalize content and I'm working on a "road to version 1.0" list
- added dif ways main menu cams view maps when generating or left idle (you can now inspect maps before playing using Home and End keys)
- adjusted 3rd person aiming to cut off sight rings past the dynamic crosshair points for better faster gauging
- fixed being able to trigger double reload sounds if button spamming or frantically trying to detonate C4
-- added visual recoil to all handheld guns (does not affect aim - controls remain 1:1 with player input)

- added experimental 3d scan map i made out of aquarium stuff

Just wanted to share an awesome Email I got.. Ben11: "I f---ing love CPGN! I have it on my laptop with 4 controllers! I bring it with me to my friend's house almost every weekend BUT I'm having trouble playing it lately. It lags now and my laptop says it doesn't support lower resolutions than what I already have it set to! Is there anything you can do?" ..my reply: "Wow, I used to do the same thing with my GameCube back in the day, it's the best gaming there is! Read below for the fix. We tested it on a laptop that couldn't run the game at all before and now it does, perfectly, at 60fps. Let me know how it plays after this update! :D" ..shotguns coming.
- added 2 ways Battle Bots can ragdoll (falling over or blowing apart)
- added random spinning to TP Ai's "digital bullets" for slowmo endings
- added slight random movement to smoke grenades and explosive smoke
- changed main player info display texts to an amiga / retro arcade style
- fixed case of tracers sometimes drifting off bullet impact locations
- fixed dynamic music system sometimes skipping when changing new section of loop
- fixed mech arms sometimes aiming at own body when too close to another object
- fixed rockets sometimes firing with a slight wobble while moving through the air
- fixed scoreboard formatting when calculating player percentages of total team scores
- fixed slower walk speed issue when aiming with mechs and running a gun out of ammo
-- added resolution scaling to PageUp and PageDn keys for machines that are starting to choke on older hardware with all the new stuff in the game. to use: keep pressing PageDn until you see the resolution start to lower with it. you can scale the quality back up to the highest settings with these lower resolutions, including 8X AA, but continue pressing PageUp and it'll increase resolutions back to it's original sharpness again.

Broke a few things with the last few updates, but fixed them all and then some. Going to start work on Ed-209's low poly brother The Mech now. Don't worry, it'll be procedural animation so all player input remains 1:1 button to action. Check out the new aim system in Third Person!
